Hello there! Thank you for checking our my e-portfolio. My name is Kelly Dombrowski and as you read, I am a strategic communications professional and corporate communications expert (I have even been dubbed an internal communications guru by my colleagues past and present). I have nearly ten years of communications experience with a speciality in corporate culture management, DEI messaging, executive briefings/emails, organizational communications, change management, go-to-market strategy and digital marketing.
I currently work at IBM in the role of Senior Consultant as a part of the Process Adoption, Organizational Change Management Practice with a focus on assisting and guiding clients through large changes. My role entails being the communications and engagement lead for Diageo, creating the communications strategy and plan and handling the execution of all items. I previous led communications work tied to the Johnson and Johnson account, specifically DEI communications/events, team building, project management and RFI/RFP presentation design and copy-editing. I also have been a key member of the Go-to-market team leading the event sponsorship and managing the logistics for them. In addition to my key roles, I have been serving as a mentor for new team members in helping them get settled in their new roles.
I previously worked in the public sector at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) from 2016 until 2021, where I able to gain the skills and experience needed to be a communications expert. During my time there I held three different positions starting as Communications Coordinator, hired prior to my BA graduation in 2016 and being promoted to Marketing and Communications Specialist in 2019 due to my professional and personal growth. In my most recent position as Internal Communications Officer at the EDA, I worked to develop and execute an internal communications strategy with the goal of cultivating an organizational culture that increased employee engagement, enhanced communication between leadership, departments, and individuals. I was able to foster trust and increase employee retention during a period of crisis management. My passion for internal communications stems from the relationships with my coworkers in working to better understand and advocate for their needs in a way that corresponded with the executive team's vision. I hold a proclamation of appreciation from NJ Governor Phil Murphy for my service to the state.

I am an honors graduate of Iona University (previously Iona College) (B.A., Mass Communications), and received one of only three commencement awards for my dedication and commitment to my fellow peers. In August of 2020, I graduated from Rutgers University's Master of Communication and Media program Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. While pursuing my master's degree, I become increasingly interested in internal communications and corporate social responsibility. This has led me to choose a dual concentration in corporate purpose & social Impact and strategic organizational ommunications. In my current position at IBM, I created and am executing a new internal communications strategy consisting of DEI programs, team building events and intranet management. I am an ambitious and detail-oriented self-starter who can manage multiple projects on tight deadlines. When I'm not at work, you can find me volunteering within my community, swimming, crafting and event planning for family and friends. You can also find me at the local park or Asbury Park Boardwalk with my Australian Labradoodle, Bennett.
